In a game of craps, is it considered cheating if you set the dice before you roll them?

I had found a video on youtube, showing a dice expert setting and rolling dice. I was wondering if this is done in a casino, will they call it cheating.

No it is not illegal as long as you are not swapping them out for weighted dice. Casinos vary as to whether or not they will allow you to do it because it can give the player an advantage-but Craps allows the player to play with or against the house so generally they don't care much and will allow it as long as you are making qualifiable throws.

If you somehow stumble upon a tub table or some other smaller than normal table, they will usually forbid dice setting. Everywhere else (which is everywhere, for all intents and purposes), it's perfectly fine. The only thing you will get hassled about is taking too long or not hitting the back wall with both dice.
By the way, if the video was about controlled shooting, the throw is way more important than the set.

Nope! They don't care, because they know people who try and set the dice are not good at it. The ones that are, and there are few will make money and all the others at the table will see this and try it themselves to only lose what they won.
The only thing they care about is that you dont take too long to set the dice. Time is money and they want those dice out and not fumbling in your hand.

It's not cheating. Anyone who says it is clearly hasn't played at a real table. As long as you only touch the dice with 1 hand, set them on the table felt so they are in clear view of the dealer/stickman, and your toss hits the triangles on the back wall (or at least comes close) they don't care what you do with them. Just play fast enough so you aren't holding up the game or the players and dealers get pissed.

People do it all the time, that's why they want you to throw the dice to hit the back wall. Mostly superstition.

Yes. You are trying for a controlled dice shot. If they see you do this, and they will, they will most likely escort you out of the casino. Or, at the very least, ban you from the craps tables. Not a wise thing to do. It is much smarter to make smarter bets with your money instead of trying to hustle them.

As long as your toss hits the back wall of the table and you don't take them below the rim of the table.. You can do anything else you want..

NO! This is not cheating, I do it on every throw.
