Question:
Why does Pokerist think it is legit?

Pokerist attempts to tell people it is not or can never be rigged. But I beg to differ, after playing over 15,000 hands I have seen too many things that fall outside the realm of randomness and that indicates there are more forces at work here.

But first think about this, it is a free site, there is no money on offer for winning so what would keep players coming back if there is no real money? Poker on average is a very boring game, many a hand can pass before something exciting happens so would you stay playing if you had to sit through 20 hands before you got something decent? But in a pokerist sit n go tournament I have on multiple times seen a full house 3 hands in a row. Of course this is exciting, but if you are playing the game proper like they advise in their forums then you are never going to see results.

Also how many times have you been beaten by either a maniac going all in with a 2 and 7 off suite or having the last card drop that got you beat? Again too many times to be a case of random chance. How many times have you noticed that when you fold that a card you needed shows up next? As if to rub it in, but if you stay in you never see the card? Since I have been paying extra attention I have had 8 AA’s and have lost 6 times most of these as all ins against poor cards that usually end up as 2 pair. Frustrating? It was but now rather comical.

The quality of competition at times is laughable as well, maniacs who come in and just keep going all in and they normally win a few before getting out and then they try and slang comments as well, then there is the lag in playing, the fact you are asked to bet without seeing your cards is strange don’t you think? And how can people have 100’s of billions of pretend dollars if there isn’t some type of hacking going on?

I have been told that if you have your name or caption marked as anything to do with cheating or the game being rigged then you will be mark and have really poor cards, initially I found this unbelievable but tried it and perhaps it is paranoia but I think my cards lately have been extra crappy. And if you think about it all it is, is a large database so any record can be marked for ‘special’ attention.

Don’t expect to learn anything but keep in mind that most of the time you are playing you are either playing a moron, a computer generated character but definitely not a proper player and you may have some fun, especially if you can get into a slanging match with a poor spelling, singlet wearing wife basher.

"after playing over 15,000 hands I have seen too many things that fall outside the realm of randomness"

Nothing falls outside the realm of randomness. If crazy things never happened, then that wouldn't be random! It would be predictable to an extent. The more hands you play, the more crazy sh*t you'll see (but the closer it will be to the true percentage).

I have no clue if it's rigged or not, I've never played there. But if it's not rigged, there's a great chance you'd still be asking this "question", because plenty of non-rigged sites have a whole lot of people thinking they're rigged when they're not. You haven't statistically analyzed your hand histories (if the site even stores them), so you wouldn't even know whether they're in line with randomness or not. I'm betting you wouldn't even know HOW to analyze it.

"but if you are playing the game proper like they advise in their forums then you are never going to see results."

False. If you play good poker, you will DESTROY in play-money. If real money played exactly like play money, I'd easily be a billionaire by now.

"And how can people have 100’s of billions of pretend dollars if there isn’t some type of hacking going on?"

There might be hacking, because when you google pokerist, several results come up like, "How to hack pokerist".

I was going to give you a "civil and polite without hurting peoples sentiments. No terrorizing or intimidating or other monstrous radical behavior" answer until you said "If you ARE a hamas sympathizer and have nothing intelligent to share,." I'm not against the fact that you are against Hamas -- You are free to decide what you do and do not support, no one can or has the right to force any opinion on you (they can gradually manipulate you/me/everyone to believe certain things though). I cannot say I support Hamas either. I'm merely against you rejection of hearing the others' point of view. Also the way you express it: "just blow yourself up"... says wonders. And about the "they're not exactly doing a great job at building bridges and peace with Jews are they ?" -- This isn't about the Jews. It's about Israel and Zionism. Judaism is as much a victim of this as Palestine and the Palestinians are. I know I said I wouldn't answer you question but I guess I couldn't resist. If you look at the top results of googling "Asia map" , you'll notice there's no Palestine in any of them. That's all I have to say.

This guy is exactly right....no joke everything he just said is dead on. They want you to buy more chips once ur out and that's that. I can't tell u how many fake players I've seen with almost a trillion dollars of fake money. I also just got off the site and the same 2 players got all the face cards and of course on the flop and river there are their 3 of a kinds, 4 of a kinds, full houses....u name it. It's horseshit. Play somewhere else.

Far from it! Divided by zero is dead on! The law of averages is a LAW for a reason. Flip a coin 100 times it should end up 50/50.... Or close. Not here. No buy $$$ no win$$$. Simple as that. I'm gonna try and change my "this game is rigged " banner and see if my luck changes? GL all and keep reporting them team players!

How can a computer game be genuinely random? It has to follow a series of instructions and can only appear to be random when it isn't.

Funniest bit about this question is the best answer openly admits they have never played there, I am guessing they are American cause they have to stick their noses into everything.

I play this occasionally whilst having a dump (I am not the only one) and basically if you try to play like you would real poker you will be eaten alive, treat it like a choccie wheel and go nuts and hope your 1 in a million pays off, mostly it will if you go all in and have nothing.

otherwise don't worry about it, there are much worse things going on out there.

Rant much? What's the question?

I don't think Pokerist thinks anything. I think you've thought enough about it for everyone.
