Question:
Can I legally join tournaments on Full Tilt Poker if I'm 18?

The tournament in question is a satellite to a live tournament in Las Vegas. I know that I am allowed to participate in the poker online because of the fact that Full Tilt is based in another country but my question is if I happen to win the tournament and my prize is a seat in a live tournament in Las Vegas, will I be allowed to play. And if not what sort of compensation will I get because I won.

Here is the relevant article from the Terms & Conditions:
"you are at least 18 years of age, or of at least the minimum permitted age for participating in such activities if you are situated in a state, province or commonwealth that stipulates a minimum age restriction that is greater than 18 years"

If they say you must be 18, then you must be 18. That's it.

Here's the catch - if you WIN, you won't actually get to enter the Vegas tournament! You could SELL the tournament seat, though. (You might want to check with Full Tilt first about that. If they say the seat is 'non-transferable', then you're out of luck.)

The paragraph you quoted from the Terms and Conditions is only relevant to playing on Full Tilt.

Take a look at the rules regarding satellite tournaments, especially where the prize is a seat to a live event. You'll probably find something more relevant.

You aren't going to be allowed to play in Vegas at 18. Is the prize actually a seat in the tournament... or just the cash to buy a seat in the tournament? Take a look. All of the WSOP satellites are paid in cash now, they don't buy you the seat. If that's the case, then you can just take the cash.

No! although you will still get rakeback if you have a rakeback account with a site like www.pokerrakebackdaily.com, you will not be able to play in the poker tournament in vegas if you win! You have to be 21. There is therefore little point playing the satellite.

As according to Fulltilt, legal age of playing all form of poker is 18 so you must be fine to play satellite or any other tournament.

Still I would suggest you to contact their customer support support@fulltiltpoker.com for this.

I guess you can play but if you win a seat you will not be able to use it, because in Las Vegas you have to be 21.

If you needed money, it wouldn't be called a freeroll.

No, I'm afraid not. You have to be 21 years old to play in Vegas.
