It's a scam. If you need telling three times the amount of money like in this one.... "four hundred thousand british pounds sterling £400,000 GBP"........you can tell because there is no need for the "British pounds Sterling" and GBP with "£" just one you would know what it was!!!

Same with the American dollars one!! they really get on my nerves.

Do these scams work on Greed or Stupidity?

I'm not saying if someone has been caught out your stupid but the signs are all there, that's where the greed comes in.....is it that the person ignores them for a possible gain, something for nothing?

The things these people do, amazing.......

Hi,

without doubt this is yet another hoax. They may not have asked for any personal details in the e-mail, but if you respond they certainly will.

No company picks 'winners' at random. As you have already noticed the e-mail address is merely made to look like it came from Yahoo (and could you, in all honesty imagine a company such as yahoo, with its huge e-mail base using another e-mail company (earthlink) for its e-mails?

Of course it wouldn't...Report it as Spam, then delete it.

Some of these e-mails look very convincing (some just look amateurish) but even the most sophisticated in appearance is there to get YOUR money, not to give you anything.

If you didn't enter a competition or lottery you can bet your life (in fact I'm so sure, you could bet MY life!) that it is a scam.

Wish it could be different for you.

Do not respond in any way, do not click on any links and do not provide them with any information about yourself whatsoever.

Cheers,

BobSpain

Nobody gives random cash prizes, especially so large, especially in foreign currency or overseas, provided you're in the US. It's a scam, as is anything else similar. People are getting very good at pretending to be reputable and commonly known organizations. Eventually something like this will come down to you providing your password for something or sending some monetary fee to process your winnings or something, and they'll use your information or take your money. Don't buy it.
