With this many players you want to watch it. You did have the stone cold nuts, and anyone who would think about calling a bet of 125 here would have to have something like: An over pair, two pair, or trips, Probably Trips! If there was 1 person in the pot I would slow play and value bet or Check Call on the flop, and Raise or Re-raise on the turn. If this guy continued to call a re-raise I would put him on trips and make him pay to see what he wants!

You could slow play and just call if you are second to third to act, I would raise if I was closer to the end of action to maximize my money made in the pot by making my opponents second guess their loose call.

On the Turn you should definitely Raise no matter what... Dont slow play too much ever! It will kill ya. Peace out Bro. Happy gaming.

1. I agree with the first poster, I would double his bet and raise to $250. You have the nuts now, but there are still cards you have to dodge. I don't think anyone would put you on 8-10 because it is rare that someone would play that hand unless they were a blind. So hopefully you will get some callers because they don't believe you.

2. The best way to bust or cripple your opponents in this position would be a check raise on the turn if it gets checked to you (assuming that there are players in the hand in later position than you are). If it is just you and BB, then bet 1/2 pot or more. If he bets, raise (especially if the turn card puts a draw out there that could beat your straight). I really like to use check raise when I am in early position. Sometimes though, it gets down to the river and no one has nibbled so you just have to bet an amount that begs to be called to try and extract the biggest amount of chips from your opponent(s) as possible.

You have the nuts after the flop, there is a chance you might not have the nuts after the turn or River if the board pairs up-he might have two pair on the flop or if an 8 comes up the other player might have J10.

I would just call on the flop, my guess is he has something (paired the board or Over cards) and is trying to make a play at the pot and with a call he most likely will not make a play again.

If he checks on the turn make a bet 1/3 of the pot-this will give him odds if he has some outs and he might call. If a scare card comes you might just want to check it down,

Raise, Raise, Raise

At the very least I would double the BB's bet of 125 and bump it to 250. This kind of raise makes it look like you are protecting a A9 or some other top pair hand. It would be difficult to for anyone to put you on the nuts since most people wouldn't play 8 10, even if it is suited, so maybe they push back with 2-pair or their draw. You caught the nuts, don't get greedy and risk a set or 10 J drawing out on you.

I would probably make a smooth call or maybe a small raise, I doubt he would be trying to buy it, so maybe if you push him a little more he'll push back with an overbet where you slam him.

With the call you're probably going to get another player in but it's another chance for them to improve. With a big blind hand that flop could mean 2 pair. I doubt many skilled players would draw to an inside straight with that size bet and the poor odds they would get. I would be more afraid of the 8-J drawing a 10 or the board pairing, but if they hit a smaller straight with a 5 you have a big payday.

It is a bad play to open under the gun with 10 8 so you got lucky to flop the nuts.

When you are typing in all capital letters, most readers would assume you at yelling (emphasis added) at them.

I would raise on the flop the size of the pot, hoping a straight drawing hand were to call me.

If you want to bust somebody, then just call the flop and hope for an overcall from somebody else.

Limp. See what come son the turn. Hopefully someone will catch a high pair, or maybe 2 pair... Your straight seems pretty protected. You are the odds on favorite for this hand, you just want to extract cash low out these fools.

Quick advice.. don't play 10 8 UTG. EVER

you just call with the nuts, getting drawn out on is part of the game. the odds that you lose the hand are horrible. unless one of your opponents flopped a set or 2pair, your 90% to win. you can raise on the turn if a scare card comes, or bet the turn if it is checked to you.
